well its all over now, got it passed its vehicle idenity check today, so now i can tax the thing.
first real drive this morning, sounds mental, very high gearing, just like driving a gte with a zf but nicer.
shame never got and more body work done but took most(all) off my spare time to get it running, i also had it mapped by some guy from iceland and not the frozen food people.

thats good news aly. if you've got it on the road you can do the body at your own pace. you going to make it in the car to billing? i've gone in through the chevette owners group, because vboa said i couldn't get in without one of their official owners clubs. maybe time us kadett owners tried to get a proper club recognised by the vboa?? don't know whats involved in this

yeah would be great to start some type of club, i believe that you have to be paid up members contruibuting to the vboa,
it could be done if we could find enough members,
yeah you do need to be part of the vboa but only to park and camp on the fields reserved for them, there is plenty of room around,
when you going down?

should have really done a update on the running on my kadett since billing,
ive not really news apart from the car runs very well, i had it mapped by a lad from iceland and not the frozen food place,
well it worked out fine apart from having to redo the leaky sump just before billing,
now covered a fair amount of miles in it, as im now using it every day as ive sold my every day car.
ive had to replace the 175/50/13 tyres for some 185/60/13 they were to crashy and car ran out of steam to easy,
next job is to sort out the speedo, ive got a toyota and opel cable so need to have the ends replaced, will post the results soon.

goodish news, fitted speedo cable to today, hybrid toyota to opel, works fine apart from being 20% to slow, so need to get round this but it works a lot better than nothing

good to hear the cars getting regular use. i work 4 on/4 off and take mine out every day on my 4 off. when my red ones done it will be my daily driver too. i've got the same problem with my speedo but i'll prob just buy one of those camera detectors/tom tom things, cos they show your speed too. any plans for your paintwork yet or you going to do it yourself? just booked my white one in for mid november for full respray.

hi, just starting to get used to the speedo now, apart from that still going strong, managed to buy a spare gearbox as mine does not like going from 3-2 gear, going up is fine, so need to swap this over,
i did take it round to a paint sprayer to ask about a quick blow over, but i would need to start sorting out all the dents, but works dead busy so no free time for me for a while.

thinking about changing the front end off my car to that off a c1 kadett, i have all the parts, front panel, new genuine wings, good bonnet from my gte. would have to also fit m reg plate which are fairly cheap!
