hi james i know your frustration as i remember the first time i went on a thread site, and spent half the night working it out til i found some info on how to do it!!
firstly, you got to get your photos uploaded on an online host, such as photobucket. i think this one is best, its free, its always there (never seeems to crash) and its straightforward. it seems to work with all sites too, so you can go on other forums and import your pics from photobucket.
STEP 1:sign up for your free account, then upload your pictures you want to use to your album. this is pretty self explanatory
STEP 2:when you want to import a picture from your album on photobucket, to the thread you want to write, such as on here, you put your mouse over the chosen picture on your photobucket album, then go down the list it shows to 'img code'. then left click 'img code'- this will highlight the full code to the right. then go over to the full code and right click on it, then left click 'copy'.
STEP 3:now you can minimize your photobucket page and get back to the thread you're writing. to insert your photo, now right click,to get the option to paste. select paste, and it should insert the full link, (img- blah blah blah-img). dont bother with the img insert buttons that you've been clicking on, on this site.just follow these steps!
thats all there is to it. its basically just 'copy' and 'paste' as you would in many pc applications, but you're copying your 'img' link for whichever picture, from your online photo host, over to the thread/post you are wanting to write. same principle applies to every site i've wanted to upload pics to, not just on here.
only thing is, i can't say how secure it is so obviously don't put private pics on photobucket that you wouldn't want anyone else to see. best of luck, if you get stuck let me know and i'll see if i missed something.
