Putting a dizzy setup from a 1.8 manta onto an xe in my coupe. The pulley from the manta is bigger than the xe's and therefore the pulley teeth are not the same to fit the xe's timing belt??? any of you fellows done this conversion? and if so any help would be much appreciated.

I think you have the later type XE engine which does have different teeth compared to the earlier type. My thinking is you'll have to get the earlier type pulleys top and bottom. Never done this but I do know that the earlier teeth are the same as the Manta. I am open to correction

theres 2 types of 20xe, the early ones have big pullys and 2 metal rollers. the late ones have smaller cam pullys and 2 plastic rollers and a tensioner. sounds like you need to run the early cambelt setup, which you will need to change the bottom pully(buggar to get off), cam pullys, cambelt backing plate, cambelt cover and a new belt kit.
