Hi guys, just found this site linked out from the manta club forum. Didnt know you existed!
I'll be lazy and copy the post Ive just put on there:
Ive joined the forum as I have started to get all nostalgic about the old Opel Kadett Coupes I use to own in the mid 90's. I had a mk1 1975, GVU 89N and a mk2 78 (cant remeber the reg, was on a T plate but I scrapped it so I know its dead) plus another I bought for spares as it was rotten as a pear!.
I'm going to start my search for another and I think being on here may help me in my search! I did sell my the white mk1 to some lads from Hull in 1997. The DVLA still lists it but says it is unregistered (not taxed), Anyone know a copper to do a PNC check on it?
Anyways, I know coupes are like rocking horse sh1t nowadays, but I'll keep my ears & eyes to the ground till a solid complete car turns up, probably up to £2 - £2.5k
Cheers Andy

yeah, saw that in the projects section. Nice purchase! I'm afraid I'm never in the right place at the right time (but wasn't looking a few weeks ago)
If you want to sell on once you have sorted the back window let me know. My MK1 was orange, then when I put new wings, bonnet & a door on it I sprayed it diamond white. I'll hae to try and dig our some photos, sure some exist somewhere.

hi there. where are you from, as i went with my brother (we are both from hull) to a place out of town, down the motorway, to get my brother a kadett c1, (which was white!) many years ago. i forget which town as we went through so many cars in our younger years! if you are the same person??, i remember us admiring a fairly tidy mini pick up at the same address. good luck in your search for a coupe, we'll all keep our ears open for you.

FECK ME YES!!! That will have been mine mate!!!, my mums boyfriend had a blue mini pick up he was rebuilding whihc was in the back garden, That was my mums house in a place called outlane, Huddersfield, where my mum lives. I'm only down the road nowadays, still in west yorkshire. I was 21 and for some insane reason decided I wanted an XR3i over the kadett. Remember my dad sold you the car as I think I was out on the piss somewhere. I think you bought it for something stupid like £400??? Think the worst bit was the drivers door, couldnt find a better one when I resprayed it. So the $60,0000 question, what happened to it? ?

hi there, small world aint it. as you can see, i still have a white coupe (see projects) but its obvoiusly not your old one. my brother had yours. we collected it from your dad on a car transporter as my bruv had his own garage at the time. i spotted it in autotrader and we got it the same night! can't remember what happened to yours to be honest but i'll ask my brother over xmas (he lives in oz now). i remember it being a fairly solid car for its age. once you owned a kadett, you're a fan for life! i've had other cars that i wouldn't go near again, but kadetts seem to leave fond memories on anyone that used to own one. keep searching bud, and one will turn up. there are a few still out there, but as im sure your aware, people love them so don't part with them everyday. as aly said, best to be ready with the reddies. you should find a good one for your budget. here's a link to german ebay if you've never looked. there's always some for sale but they demand good money over there. fahrzeuge.shop.ebay.de/Automobile-/9801/i.html?_nkw=opel+kadett+c&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282

cheers for the reply mate. Yes it was sound. As I'm sure so many people have said over the years, I wish I'd never sold it!!!
As you say, once you have owned one you always have a soft spot for them, and I have looked at the classifeds over the years (and german ebay) . I used to be well into stripping, welding rebuilding etc, but now I'm older and life has taken over I just dont really have time to play as much. I'm older, wiser and with (a bit) of brass in my pocket so ideally would like to find one that doesnt need too much doing, but it will be a weekend play thing, not a daily.
I'll keep my eyes peeled, but there is no rush!!
